Halting the loss and degradation of forest ecosystems and promoting their restoration have the potential to contribute over one-third of the total climate change mitigation that scientists say is required by 2030 to meet the objectives of the Paris Agreement.
Forests are home to 80% of the world’s terrestrial biodiversity. They provide food, shelter, & water to millions of animals. We need trees to breathe also.. so its a no brainer? However most people don't even realize how bad deforestation currently is. Here are so alarming facts so you can kind of get an idea:
- Some 80% of tropical rainforests are destroyed due to agriculture.
- By 2030, there may be only 10% of the rainforests left.
- Throughout the world, about 900 million trees are cut down annually. This equates to about 2.47 million trees cut down every day.

Every second, a forest the size of a football field is lost, according to the deforestation statistics for 2021.

How can I be sure that my trees are being planted?
We only work with trusted, certified non profits. After you complete your purchase we will send you a confirmation email thanking you for your support. We will also send you your electronic tree certificate & updates on the status of your trees provided by our main reforestation partner whenever a planting session is taking place. You can also email One Tree Planted about our tree planting operations with them.
